Greetings on the 56th Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution

His Excellency
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba
to the Republic of the Philippines
Embassy of the Republic of Cuba
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Your Excellency :
Through your most esteemed embassy, the Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP-1930, the Philippine Communist Party) sends warmest felicitations to the Communist Party of Cuba, the Government of the Republic of Cuba, and the whole revolutionary people of Cuba, on today’s happy occasion of the 56TH Anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
This occasion is made more joyous with the recent release of Antonio Guerrero, Ramon Labanino and Gerardo Hernandez --- the 3 remaining members of the “Cuban-5” --- from more than 16 years of unjust and cruel incarceration in US jails. Their release is a vindication of the great anti-terrorist mission of the “Cuban-5”, and of Cuba’s firm stand against terrorism.
Further, a great victory has been scored with the recent acknowledgment of US President Barack Obama that the US policy of hostility and blockade against Cuba in the past five and a half decades had failed, and that instead of isolating Cuba, it only led to the international isolation of the USA. Obama’s new policy of “engagement” through the normalization of diplomatic relations is proof that US hostility and blockade cannot deter Cuba’s path of socialist construction.
The normalization of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the USA gives hope that the end to all forms of the US blockade against Cuba will soon be realized, and that negotiations could soon proceed for the return to Cuba of the US military base at Guantanamo, as well as for the realization of justice for all the victims of direct and indirect US terrorist actions against Cuba since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
We salute Cuba’s many achievements throughout the 56 years of the Cuban Revolution, as well as Cuba’s continued display of selfless solidarity towards many peoples in need --- as exemplified again by the dispatch this year of Cuban medical volunteers to Ebola-stricken countries in Africa.
On this occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to continue working for the widening and strengthening of the solidarity movement with Cuba in our country. It has been more than 2 years now since the Philippine government, apparently under US direction, had initiated the closure of resident diplomatic representations between our 2 countries. It gives us hope that the normalization of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the USA will show the way for the Philippine government, and lead to the re-opening of the Cuban Embassy in Manila, which we eagerly await.
The extremely difficult but glorious path blazed by the Cuban Revolution will continue to inspire our Party and all revolutionaries worldwide in the struggle against imperialism, and for peace, freedom and socialism.
                                                                                                Very sincerely,
                                                                                                General Secretary, PKP-1930
