Greetings to the Congress of the Communist Party of Finland.

COMRADE JUHA-PEKKA VAISANEN
SUOMEN KOMMUNISTINEN PUOLUE (SKP)
(Communist Party of Finland)
Dear comrade :
Through you, the Partido Komunista ng Pilipinas (PKP-1930, the Philippine Communist Party) sends warmest fraternal greetings to the Congress of the Suomen Kommunistinen Puolue (SKP, the Communist Party of Finland) to be held in Turku, Finland, on June 4 to 5, 2016.
We salute the SKP's firm defense of the policy of non-alignment, its opposition to the NATO military alliance, and its struggle against the policy of the government of Prime Minister Juha Petri Sipila to involve Finland in military exercises aimed at NATO membership. The USA practically invited itself to conduct war games in your country, a neighbor of Russia, and these war games have drawn your country into a potential USA-Russia inter-imperialist conflict. This is similar to the USA's conduct of joint war games in the Philippines, which has brought our country to the forefront of a potential USA-China inter-imperialist conflict.
We find common ground with the SKP's call for an end to the Sipila government’s billion-dollar weapons acquisitions program, so that money allocated for armaments could be used instead to promote employment and the all-round development of your country. In this connection, we hail the SKP's call for Finland to act as a pioneer of disarmament and for ridding the world of nuclear and other weapons of mass destruction.
SKP's active role in the “Arctic Initiative for Peace and Ecologically-Sustainable Future”, the common position of communists in the Northern hemisphere to strengthen collaboration for ecologically sustainable plans in using Arctic natural resources for the good of humanity, is notable. However, while you discuss the sharing of resources in your hemisphere, there is in our region a contrary phenomenon with China claiming almost the whole of the South China Sea on the obscure basis of her dynastic past.
Proletarian internationalism is a hallmark of any communist party, and this is reflected in the SKP's consistent solidarity with the Palestinian and other colonial peoples, with the Arab peoples fighting against imperialist aggression and terrorism, and with the peoples of Venezuela and other countries facing off imperialist interference and “regime-change” subversion.
We are confident that your Congress in Turku will give more strength to the SKP's struggle against the anti-people “Troika” of the European Commission, the European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) –- a class- oriented struggle for better workers' rights, for more equal women’s rights, for universal human rights, and for peace and socialism.
With communist greetings,
ANTONIO E. PARIS
